Design Services

No security system is plug-and-play. No fire detection system is turnkey. At IFSS, we believe that design is the fundamental first step to getting a security or fire detection system that works for you. Every building, situation, and set of goals is unique, and the solution you implement should be designed exclusively with those characteristics in mind. IFSS always starts with your needs and objectives in mind. Here are the steps in our security and fire system design process:

Comprehensive Evaluation

IFSS starts by sitting down with you to discuss your unique objectives and situation. Then we conduct a site visit to see the facility and evaluate any currently operating systems with which new technology would need to integrate. In short, we always begin by understanding more about your business and needs.

AHJ Submittal Process

For fire detection systems, fire marshal review and approval is required. Depending on the type of facility, other agencies may have jurisdiction over approval of different systems. IFSS can handle the entire submittal process to the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) and obtain approval so you can ensure your facility is ready and approved for operation.

Specification

After careful evaluation, IFSS returns to propose the equipment and configuration that we believe are best suited for your situation. We work with you to identify precisely the equipment that will offer the performance you desire while simultaneously working within your budget.

CAD services

Because it is easier to make changes on paper than on walls, IFSS provides comprehensive blueprint design of your system in CAD, so that we can lay out the system, discuss any challenges, and have a reference document that provides clear instruction for installers.

Project Management

Successfully (and painlessly!) implementing a security or fire system requires organization and precision, especially when multiple parties are involved. IFSS has experience managing large, complex implementations involving multiple parties, and uses proven processes to ensure that the system is implemented right the first time. Our approach ensures that your installation is completed on time, on budget.

RFP preparation and review

If your company requires that projects go out for bid, we can prepare RFP specifications to enable you to collect the right information in the process. IFSS can also evaluate the RFP results, including evaluation and summary of results to ensure you have a clear “apples-to-apples” comparison when making a final decision.

Staging

To ensure that the installation process is as seamless as possible, IFSS organizes and pre-stages equipment so that it’s ready for installation as soon as it arrives on site. Cameras are preconfigured to required specifications, software is preloaded into systems, and equipment is organized and labeled for easy installation on site. These simple steps add tremendous value.

Progress billing

IFSS understands the value of offering compensation at key intervals throughout a large project to keep contractors on target and also to address any changes in scope of work as the project progresses. We serve as a third party to monitor and oversee progress billing.

Scope of work compliance evaluation

Your timeline and budget are not just important – but critical. IFSS’s scope of work compliance evaluation ensures that contractors are doing the work they promised in a suitable manner and reasonable timeframe and raises red flags of any problems.

System documentation

To ensure that you have everything you need on file for the purposes of ongoing system maintenance and tracking, we provide CAD designs and as-built drawings that reference when and how your security and fire systems were installed and maintained.

Testing and verification

Once installation is completed, we walk the site to re-verify that every piece of equipment is properly placed and fully-functional and that it meets code compliance.

Training

IFSS can provide end-user training on systems to ensure they will be comfortably implemented and used in the day-to-day operation of your organization.

Installation Services

Installing security and fire systems correctly, completely and efficiently can be the most painful part of implementing a new system. IFSS makes this step a painless, streamlined process, posing minimal interruption to your business. We can work with your staff or designated vendors, or assign one of our trusted installation partners to manage and complete the entire process.
